Film de famille Gauban : mariage 1939
Film of the Gauban Family: Wedding 1939. The bride, in the arms of a man, leaves her home where a luxury car is waiting to take her to the church. Here is the whole family –whose members appear to belong to the upper middle class– who gather to celebrate the union of the two young people. Following them, the guests leave the religious ceremony in pairs and richly dressed. The celebration continues with the reception in the garden of a wealthy household. The young bride gives around pieces of her veil to the guests to, according to tradition, bring them luck and love. In small groups the guests discuss, smoke or drink their coffees around some tables set outside. To stretch their legs, some play with the greyhound of the property. The reception finishes in this atmosphere that is both friendly and highly distinguished.
