The film on film can be a very long shelf life, when it is subjected to appropriate treatment. As film libraries, La Cinémathèque de Toulouse and the Institut Jean Vigo are the only structures in our region with the technical means and skills to save and preserve films in good conditions. If not carefully treated and stored, the film holder is exposed to many damage (scratches, dust, mold …) that make it difficult or simply impossible to use. It is therefore important to save these films to transmit these images to present and future generations.
